Help me buy my step dad's old car back

Hi, My name is Olly.

I am setting up this go fund me because I would like to buy my step dad's old car back. Let me start off by telling you why this car is so important to me. In the picture above is my step dad Matt. When he first came into my life we got along really well and we shared an interest in cars. He told me lots of stories about how he started his work life doing an apprenticeship with Vauxhall and about all the cars he owned and worked on. He also told me many great stories about his Subaru which is the one in the picture above, these stories amazed me. He taught me to drive and helped me modify my first car with me, and this is where it all began. I was attending car meets every weekend as he used to back in the day. I am also currently working at Mercedes doing a mechanic apprenticeship and I honestly don't think I would be there if it weren't for him getting me into such love for cars.

On 26th December 2022, Matt took his own life. This was totally unexpected and shocking and has left me and my family devastated.

A few months before Matt took his own life I decided to try and see if his Subaru was still on the road. I joined many group chats and messaged people which led me to a RB5 Subaru group chat on Facebook. I then got a message from a guy saying he owned the car which made me really happy. I told Matt I had found it and he was really astonished. I remember telling him I was going to save up for it and one day buy it back for him. Since Matt died I have kept in contact with the man who owns it. He recently messaged me saying that he is ready to sell it to me as he always said he would hold it for me knowing the story behind the car.

I need help raising money to be able to purchase this car back as it would mean so much to me to own the car that Matt once loved and owned for 15 years. I would be very grateful for any donations as this will get me one step closer to having such a special car which holds so much value and memories for me as I don't just see this as a car but more of a token to remember such a great person. If I happen to go above my target I will be donating the rest to suicide prevention. He was the kindest and most loving Man.
