My name is Gelock Tannor
My colleague and I initially requested a change of work location due to poor working conditions and mistreatment at our assigned workplace. Although the employer acknowledged our request and assured us of a response, we were left without any communication or action for over a month. During this entire period, we received neither salary nor food allowance, despite reaching out multiple times and even visiting their office.
As we could no longer sustain ourselves, we left the company accommodation and stayed temporarily with a friend. The company later contacted us via WhatsApp asking us to return, but my colleague was sick and unable to travel. Before his recovery, the employer sent us a termination letter.
When we went to the company office on June 2nd, we were told we would be assigned to a new job at a different restaurant, and we agreed. However, we stayed in the accommodation for nearly two weeks without any salary or food allowance and no job placement was provided as promised.
Given the ongoing mistreatment, we submitted an acceptance letter of termination and requested to be sent back to our home country. Unfortunately, the employer ignored our letter and later ordered us to vacate the accommodation within three days, without offering any job, salary, food, or exit arrangements.
We believe these actions are a violation of the Saudi Labor Law, particularly with regard to non-payment of wages, failure to provide basic employee rights, and forcing termination I want to beg for assistance to get money to buy ticket to go back to my country Ghana
