Thank you for your support for Irindiro Secondary School. 9 of us from the UK went there in October and witnesses how your generous donation has and will make a big difference to the school.
We donated 4 projectors, 3 visualisers, 3 whiteboards with pens, art supplies and DUFC bought the school a lot of sports equipment. Through the year, we have sponsored 69 students and are working very hard to raise money to sponsor more.
For the school, this means the students are more in school than out. That means teachers can now actually teach because before the lessons were very fragmented due to low numbers of consistent attendance. We are expecting better results from the national exams they've just sat.
We now have more students boarding than this time last year.
The students now have tables and benches to sit on thanks to the generous donation by Steve Lockett.
The staff members have now been paid.
The school is working towards repairing the boys dormitory which was derelict and unsafe. At the moment, the boys sleep in two classrooms which is not right nor safe.
All this has been possible because of you. Thank you very much.
Irindiro school is where the education journey of my family started. From my father being the first in the family to go to school to now unlimited access to education for us all. In September 2024, I was privileged to visit the school and found that the classrooms still rely on old chalk board, the students are learning IT in theory and the teachers rely on their phones for notes and revision materials. The school has no access to modern learning tools.
Since September 2024, we have raised funds and sponsored 60 most needy students to remain in school. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. In October of this year, 10 of us will be visiting Irindiro Secondary School in Kenya.
Students of Irindiro value education, are full of potential and drive but they face the challenge of outdated classroom conditions and lack of essential teaching tools. Please help us raise funds for a much needed classroom technology upgrade. We are aiming to raise £1000 to purchase
1. A computer at £500
2. A projector at £250
3. A visualiser at £150
4. A whiteboard at £100
With just a few upgrades, and one classroom at a time, we can drastically improve the learning outcomes for all. Every student deserves access to quality education - no matter where they live.
We will share photos from Irindiro to show you how your kindness will have transformed a classroom to a brighter and more inspiring learning environment to give the students the education they deserve.
Thank you very much in advance.
