Please Help us Build an Orthodox Church in Bury St Edmunds!

We’re raising funds to secure a permanent home for the Eastern Orthodox Christian community at St Edmund's Mission in Bury St Edmunds (Suffolk, UK) — We need your help to make it a reality!

In just 6 months, our new parish has welcomed a permanent priest (Fr Vladimir), formed a dedicated choir, and faithful altar servers, families and parishioners from across the region. Every week more people come searching for the depth, beauty, and truth of Orthodox Christianity.

Currently, we are blessed to rent space from a local Anglican church, where we’ve been warmly received. But to truly grow, thrive and serve our community, we need a place of our own — a sacred space where we can gather for weekly Sunday Liturgies, vespers, feast days, baptisms, and weddings; where the children can grow in the Faith at our Sunday School; where new seekers can learn and be welcomed.

Bringing Our Vision to Life

We're raising funds, are praying and keeping our eyes open for a building that could become that home — ideally a well-located structure in central Bury St Edmunds.

Once we have the funds and can secure a building, we will set to work transforming it into a traditional Orthodox Church — We'll need:
