Buy an electric wheelchair for Carmen

Hi, my name is Atalanta and I'm fundraising for urgent financial support needed for severely injured older lesbian Carmen and her sister Rebel Dyke Lucy Martin, who is now her full time caregiver.

Finances are needed to fund a much-needed wheelchair for Carmen, any extra money raised will be used toward her care costs and transport. Any amount, however small, will be greatly appreciated.

Carmen Martinez was hit by a car when leaving her friend's birthday party; she has been severely injured, suffering multiple fractures and two strokes which resulted in the loss of her sight and near loss of her hearing. This has left her needing round the clock care for all her needs.

You may remember Lucy Martin, an artist and flamenco singer whose photography featured in the Rebel Dykes Art and Archive Show last year and who now has complete responsibility for her sister's care, food, medical treatment and transport.

They are both older lesbians, Carmen is due to be 80 this year, who cared for their elderly mother and survived the Franco regime. They have both been positive, caring people who have cooked for friends, cared for stray animals and contributed to the lgbtqi community for many years.
