Buy a brick. St.Felim's N.S Ballinagh
All donors will be acknowledged on a commemorative plaque to be displayed in the school.
St. Felim's N.S, Ballinagh recently received a grant to fund the resurfacing of the playgrounds at the back of the school. This was a result of a long process where we had applied for this grant for several years and were not successful. The grant covers the resurfacing of the play areas with tar, kerbs and associated works. We would like to complete the project by building a wall along the lower side of the pitch, adjoining the tar area and extending it towards the oil tank and steps. Money raised prior to the summer will be used to replace the fencing on the pitch, however we are extending the area which will be fenced. Topsoil will fill the area between the fence and the wall replacing the unsightly ditches and banks. Building the wall will cost €6000. When applying for the Clár Grant we had to commit to raise 10% of the overall cost. This project will totally transform the play areas at the side and back of the school and will be a tremendous asset to the school. It will make the playground much safer and cleaner. In winter when children cannot access the pitch this is their play area. It is used daily by many classes. We are therefore asking parents, past pupils and those in the wider community to buy a brick or several bricks, donating €10 for each brick. Our aim is to raise €6000. All contributions will be gratefully received.
