Middleton Park Primary Needs You: Help Us Raise £17,000 for Vital School Books!

Dear Middleton Park Primary Community, friends, and supporters,

We are launching this appeal to completely transform the reading journey for the children at Middleton Park Primary School. We need to raise £17,000 to replace an outdated reading scheme that has been in place since the day the school opened.

Right now, our children are working with limited resources. Because resources are so restricted, our teachers have to make constant accommodations to ensure they can deliver lessons in small groups. While our staff work tirelessly to manage this, having so few copies makes it incredibly difficult to deliver a seamless reading curriculum for the whole class.

Furthermore, our current books do not accommodate the modern, diverse learning needs of all our children.

Every child deserves the right to read, regardless of their starting point.

Where will your money go?

Every single penny raised will go directly towards purchasing a brand-new, modern reading scheme that:

• Engages every child with vibrant, up-to-date, and exciting stories.

• Accommodates additional learning requirements, ensuring fully inclusive resources for pupils who need extra support, visual aids, or specialised phonics.

• Provides enough books for everyone, allowing teachers to deliver effective, well-resourced group reading sessions without logistical barriers.

What your donations actually buy:

To show you exactly how transparent and vital your support is, here is what it costs a school to implement a modern literacy program:

• £7 buys one single replacement book to help build up our classroom stock.

• £35 buys a small group starter pack of 5 matching books so a reading circle can learn together smoothly.

• £125 funds one full colour-coded Book Band level set for a class, allowing children to progress naturally as they improve.

• £350 provides a comprehensive year-group top-up pack, featuring specialised fiction and non-fiction titles to keep children engaged.

• £1,000+ funds the specialised SEND, Rapid Catch-up, and phonics intervention systems required to accommodate pupils with additional learning needs across the whole school.

Reading is the foundation for everything our children will do in life. By updating our scheme, we aren't just buying paper and ink—we are investing in their confidence, their education, and their futures.

Whether you are a parent, a former pupil, a local business, or simply someone who believes in the power of education, your donation will make a direct impact.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with your friends, family, and networks. Together, we can fill the shelves and give the children of Middleton Park Primary the resources they deserve.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support!
