Hi friends! It’s me, Buxley, your favorite squishy-faced buddy! I need a little help, and I thought I’d share my recent story with you.

I’ve had a rough time lately. I’ve got two torn ACLs in my back legs (ouch!) and a corneal ulcer in my right eye. Last Thursday, I had surgery on my left ACL and my eye. I was super lucky—my eye actually ruptured during surgery, but my amazing doctor saved it, and now I’ll be able to see all your smiling faces again!

In about four weeks, I’ll need to go back for surgery on my right ACL. My parents have been taking such good care of me, and I’m so thankful to have them by my side. But, you see, I overheard them talking (shh, don’t tell!) about how my medical bills are adding up—way more than insurance can cover. The total cost is over $15,000.

Right now, I’m on eight different medications, and after my second surgery, I’ll need rehab to help me walk and play again.

So many of you have reached out asking how you can help or wanting to send me a gift. Honestly, helping us reach our GoFundMe goal would be the best “Get Well” gift ever!

If we’re lucky enough to raise more than we need, I’ll donate the extra funds to the Birmingham Humane Society to help some of my furry friends who need it most.
