Supporting Debby Day

Debby Day is one of the most selfless, giving, and generous people I have ever known—and now she needs help.

For nearly 40 years, I have watched Debby show up, without hesitation, for anyone in need. Whether it was a friend, a family member, a charitable cause, or simply a call from the universe, she has always stepped in with an open heart, offering support spiritually, financially, and physically.

A lifelong resident of the Highlands and owner of The Light House Wellness Center, Debby has dedicated her life to helping others. She is one of the most gifted massage therapists I have ever known—her touch is more than skill, it’s a gift. Beyond her work, she has been a caregiver in every sense of the word. She stepped up to raise her two grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews, when they needed her most. She has opened her home to countless friends in times of need. She has suffered great tragedy and unspeakable loss. Through all of life’s hardships, she has never once asked, Why me?

This morning, Debby’s beloved daughter, Marty Devos, passed away after a long battle with congestive heart failure at Baptist East.

Debby has been Marty’s primary caregiver for a long time, putting everything else—including her business and sole source of income—on hold to be with her daughter over the last few months and weeks. She rarely left the hospital and was by her daughter's side when she passed. Now, she faces the unimaginable heartbreak of laying her daughter to rest, along with the financial burden that comes with it.

Debby has spent her life giving to others, never asking for anything in return. So, I am asking for her.

Any support—whether financial assistance, words of encouragement, or simply sharing this message—would mean so much during this devastating time.

Debby is someone who brings light and love to this world, pushing through darkness and fear with strength and her own unique grace. She “shows up” for everyone. If you can “show up” for her, it will be deeply appreciated.
