Button Down Radio has been championing ska and Northern Soul since 2016. We try our hardest to promote new and unsigned bands and spread the message of ska as far as we can.Since the demise of Radionomy, we have been responsible for the broadcasting licence fees which aren't cheap. We would never expect anyone to pay to listen to our service, but these fees are now limiting our ability to broadcast and how much new music can buy. Last year cost over a thousand pounds to broadcast and there's only little old me, a hard working teacher with a passion for that off beat riddim.
First of all, we would prefer you spent your money buying albums from the bands we play and going to their gigs (when we are allowed to again) and buying their merch.However, if you have listened in the past and would like to hear your favourite music again. Please consider, if you are able to, donating a pound or two so that artists can benefit from licensing fees.
Seriously, every little would help towards furthering the ska scene.Thank you for taking the time to read all this and we appreciate anything the you can give - no matter how small.
