Our Story
On Monday, April 29, 2019 my brother Billy and I were half way returning to Minneapolis from Des Moines where we just completed our father's funeral two days prior, we got a horrifying call that his cat Butters suffered a ruptured bladder.
Billy in the passenger seat sobbed, tears rolling down his face as he was faced with with a decision to authorize an additional $3,000 surgery (in addition to the already incurred $2500 vet bill for inpatient cat care), as he cried he consented to have him put to sleep. But god bless our mother Ginny who could not bear for Billy to suffer another tragic and sudden loss, she called the vet clinic and authorized the surgery.
We're now turning to gofundme to humbly ask for help with the vet bills.

Butters Loves his Naps
How this Started
A week and a half ago on Friday, April 19, 2019 I received a phone call from Mercy West Hospital in West Des Moines that our father was in the ER and that the doctors had been performing CPR on my dad for several minutes, a few moments later I got another call from my uncle Steve who was with my dad and his girlfriend in the ER that our father had passed away at the age of 67 from a heart attack. Completely heartbroken the next morning my brother and I put Butters in our car to drive back to Des Moines to attend to my father's funeral.
When we got to Des Moines we noticed that Butters was not doing well and we immediately took him to the emergency vet Blue Pearl in Urbandale, Iowa. Butters stayed at Blue Pearl for the next few days, then the following Monday they said Butters could go home. As first Butters was doing well, then by Friday he took a turn for the worst, we rushed him back to the emergency vet, they kept him longer this time. During that weekend Blue Pearl continued to observe Butters, that following Monday as my brother and I were driving back to go back to work in Minneapolis was when we received that phone call that butters' bladder had ruptured and required emergency surgery.

About Butters
Butters is a shy friendly cat. He loves to lay down next to anyone while they're napping. He loves playing with my cat Monkeydoodle and teasing the dog Callie.
Kitties in Cahoots, Butters the Ringleader
Here Butters is in cahoots with the other cats, my cat Monkeydoodle and my mother's cat Biscuit all to conspire to knock the kitty treats off the top of the refrigerator so they all could gorge themselves on cat treats.
