Butters Family Medical Fund

As many of you are aware, Margaret Butters suffered a heart attack the morning of July 3rd. While we were celebrating Independence Day, Margaret had to undergo surgery. Thankfully, Margaret and George recognized what was happening and what needed to happen; George rushed Margaret down the mountain where she could receive the necessary care. Their training as volunteer fire fighters, EMT and their service to the community paid off in a very personal way.

They have touched so many lives in the area. They actively participate in the Boise Basin Booster, The 4th of July celebrations, as well as Hot August Nights. Margaret and George have helped connect this community in incredible ways. They seek out and help provide the food baskets to families in need at Christmas. When winter kicks in and the snow and dark days arrive, they champion the Chinese lanterns that light up the night.

Even though Margaret works doing in-home care and George drives the van that transports veterans into town for various appointments they lack one important thing. Medical Insurance. We also need to keep in mind that while Margaret recovers, she will be unable to work.

This weekend proved to be awfully expensive; not only monetarily but emotionally as well. This situation could devastate any family. It is my hope that the wonderful community of Placerville (and beyond!) will help Margaret and George during this time by donating towards medical bills and living expenses. Let’s turn the tables for the time being and help the helpers.
