What started out as a normal day turned into surgery and mounting medical bills. Butter had taken his plate to the sink a million times before, but on June 28, 2021, while taking his plate to the sink, Butter fell. He knew he was in trouble and unable to get up as he watched his blood collecting on the floor. Thank God that he was able to use his cane, to pull the phone to the floor and call for help. The paramedics were able to reach him by shattering the storm door. He was taken into surgery to repair a broken femur. This hospitalization turned into three and a half months of treatment and mounting medical bills. Even after all that time, Butter’s is just beginning to be able to endure some weight on his left leg. As he is awaiting the doctor’s clearance to start strengthening the leg so that he can use the walker, another problem arises. The problem is that he has exceeded his insurance benefits and still needs care. He is awaiting a decision from an appeal that he has filed. Even with the appeal, Butter has an obiligation to rehab facility that have exceed $20,000.
