Everyone meet Butterfly. A wonderful person managed to trap this little love on the 9th February as she’d been stuck in someone’s garden. She had no microchip and no one in the area knew where she’d come from.
Upon arriving at the shelter it soon became apparent she had sustained a very bad injury. She was wearing a tattered collar which she had somehow managed to get her front leg caught in. We are unsure how long she’d been like this, but from struggling, she’d rode down the fur and skin exposing a nasty wound and having been like this for what appears to be a while, the skin had began growing back over the collar in an attempt to heal.
Bev managed to get the collar off straight away but after goodness knows how long being stuck like that it was very clear she had no movement within her front leg.
After further investigation the vet has confirmed we need to get her booked in for the leg to be amputated and this is where we need your help. We absolutely will find the funds for this somehow even if we don’t raise everything we need to, but we thought we’d share Butterfly’s story just in case anyone has a couple of pounds to spare.
Other than her deformed leg, she’s a very happy and healthy little girl and once it’s amputated we are positive she’ll make a fantastic recovery and be a wonderful companion to a lucky family.
We’ll be posting butterfly’s journey over the coming weeks, so wish her luck
