Hi, I'm Dave and I have created this Go Fund Me for my partner who was recently diagnosed with Metastatic small bowel adenocarcinoma, she also has peritoneal carcinomatosis, pelvic lymphadenopathy, and a mesenteric mass measuring 3.9 x 3.0 x 4.7 cm in her small bowel.

A little history of Mary (better known as Buttercup to everyone) is a vibrant, energetic and positive 59 yr old woman who is always giving and caring.

In her spare time she likes to knit and in the past few years has donated approx 300 knitted items to various charitable organizations as well as to the Cancer care unit at Scarborough General Hospital. She also enjoys singing (karaoke) as well as being around her friends and family and sharing a laugh or two.

Back on May 31st, 2022, she was let go from her job as an Accounts Payable Analyst after 22 years of dedication to the company due to restructuring. In June after doctors tried to figure out why she had been losing weight drastically she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was given about a year for survival. Along with losing her job she also lost most of her insurance for Life, Short and Long term disability. She has gone through many rounds of Chemo and had her hair falling out in clumps and had to shave her head. With no improvement and several smaller tumors being found in her last CT Scan, she decided to stop Chemo (which we were told would maybe add a few months at best) as it was not helping but was ruining her quality of life more than anything. She wanted more quality of life than quantity if it meant feeling sick all the time and not being able to spend time with family and friends.

The goal of this Fund Raising is to help with end-of-life expenses and living expenses since she can no longer work IE: funeral costs, help with rent and expenses etc...

With your help, Buttercup will be able to rest at ease knowing her funeral expenses won't be a burden on her family and allow her to have the quality of life she deserves.
