This man would give you the shirt off his back even if it was the only one he had. I thought I’d try to help return the favor in showing him some support as he and Mom are at a point where they are in need.

Dad has Type 2 Diabetes and was helping a family member do a bathroom reno when he hurt his pinky toe. His pinky toe became severely infected and fast forward a couple months and he is now one pinky toe less. Unfortunately, his healing journey did not end with the amputation of his pinky toe. Infection has continued to sink in. He has had two more procedures since his first one and is still not on the way to healing. He now has two major infections in his foot that he is fighting - a staph infection and another infection that is considered to be a step down from Mercer. His pain has been unbearable to the point where he screams out and cries because it is so bad. He has been going on like this for over three months now. It has affected his mental health and really downed his spirits.

I thought I would try to help by raising some funds to help support the copays, gas, and food that they are having to spend all of their funding on to keep seeing all of the different types of doctors and specialists that he sees whom are out of town with hefty copays. He is going to be treated at a wound care facility very soon and we have heard wonderful stories about the miracles this place can have for healing.

Mom has been the rock through all of this. She has been his main caregiver while balancing working from home and still being my village for my special needs daughter.
