Butch Williams Medical Fund

Donation protected

As some may know a medical account has been set up for Jackey "Butch" Williams through West Texas National Bank in Seminole. After several request from our community we have set up a Go Fund Me account that is directly attached to the West Texas National Bank account.

Early June, Butch, my dad, started having health issues and after several times of dad passing out, we convinced him to go see his primary doctor. After this visit, Dad had to have blood work completed to see what was going on. A few days passed and we received a phone call from the doctor that dad's blood levels were critically low, and we needed him to be taken to the ER. During that visit dad had three units of blood transfused, and was discharged home for a follow up with the surgeon at Seminole Memorial.

Once we had the follow up with Dr. Banister at SMH, dad was admitted and a scope was planned to see why he was loosing blood. As the first night in the hospital June 22nd dad had to have four additional units of blood to bring his blood counts back into a normal range.

June 23rd a MRI and CT scan was completed and we were all under the impression that dad had an abscess in his descending colon on the left side of his abdomen, that could be drained and may be the answer to the blood loss issues.

On June 24th dad went and had a Scope completed with finding the "abscess" was not an abscess, it was Colon Cancer. After speaking to Dr. Banister the surgeon about this she was confident she would be able to remove the colon that had the cancer in it. The cancer was occluding 98% of dad's colon and everything above the cancer was going through a small hole the size of a pinky finger to empty the colon.

June 25th, Dad went into surgery, on his birthday, to remove the Colon Cancer. During the procedure the surgical team was able to remove the colon cancer. However the team found Mets on Dad's liver, and 8 of the 13 Lymph Nodes on his left abdominal wall. Meaning the cancer has spread...

Dad and Mom had the first appointment with the Joe Arrington Cancer Center on July 12th which the game plan is to have dad start chemo in August. We are waiting till August to allow dad's surgical sight from the removal of the colon to fully heal prior to starting chemo. Dad currently has approximately a 14 inch incision from the removal of the colon which needs time to heal, along with the portions of the colon that remained that were re-directed to allow his colon to still work with out the portion removed. Dad will be have a PET scan completed on Monday the 19th as well to allow the cancer specialist to see where the cancer has spread and was stage of cancer is at currently.

During this time, our family had to process the diagnosis of going from a simple abscess to now possibility of Stage 4 cancer within a matter of three days. Being a tight knitted family we have pulled together and taking each step day by day. During the COVID-19 pandemic dad's semi truck business declined and he was not able to pay for his health care insurance and he lost his coverage due to this, so everything has became a situation of finances and attempting to get dad some kind of insurance to assist with the chemo therapy. We have applied for Disability along with Medicaid however was told it may take up to three months to hear a answer back on this.

Mom, Sandy is currently working three jobs, between the School, working at a restaurant as a cook, and also being the church secretary. Along with Butch and Sandy's sons who live in Seminole, Chason, who is a small business owner, and wife Lainey and daughter Ridgelee. Son, Joden works as a AeroCare Paramedic out of Lovington, and son Dominic Cruz, who works in a fabrication shop in town, and Wife Klarrisa and son Lincoln. Also son Steven who is currently living in Dallas and daughter Abby.

Between the funds to help with the chemo therapy, doctor visits, and medications that will be needed, the travel between Seminole, and Lubbock for chemo appointments, and doctor visits, and daily life expenses and bills due to dad unable to fully go back to work, as he is not able to assist with loading cattle in the trailers, or able to lift anything greater than 15 pounds currently. We as a family can not say thank you enough for the support, encouragement, and prayers we have received during this time. We are truly blessed to live in a community like Seminole, and all of our extended friends and family that has stepped in and assisted us during this time. From the calls, texts, to showing up to help fix something around the land, to just stopping us in a store and letting us know people are praying and standing with us through this. As we keep reminding ourselves our God is bigger than this cancer, and we know that God is ready working out his plan.

To every one who has donated to our family thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we are truly grateful for your support as we go through this day by day, and to the ones who can not donate, who are praying everyday for dad, thank you, we are firm believers that God is in full control and we are standing firmly on his promises.
