Butch Scism’s cancer journey

In an instant your entire world can change right before your eyes and life as you knew it has changed forever. This is what has happened to our friend and coworker Butch Scism when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. Butch lives with his wife Wendy and their two daughters Amanda & Rebecca. We have known and worked with Butch for over 25 years. He has always loved his job, providing for his family and is a very prideful person.

It started last summer when Butch was on his annual vacation with his family. He became very ill and really didn’t think much of it. When he returned home he went to his Dr and shortly after that he was diagnosed with cancer. Since that time, he has endured many torturous days of treatments, tests, bloodwork, surgery’s, hospital stays and worry. Through it all he has been fighting this beast called cancer. In April 2019 he was given good news… Cancer free. You could imagine the relief he and his family felt hearing those words. Finally able to get back to normal. He returned to work and was trying to put his life back together emotionally and financially. Sadly within a few weeks Butch became ill again resulting in emergency surgery and more bad news… The cancer is back….. brain cancer. He is undergoing more aggressive treatments now and his fight begins all over.
