**UPDATE**
On April 11 - after one last slumber party with 2 granddaughters that consisted of pizza, ice cream and ghost adventure shows, he slipped peacefully from this world. He is at rest. Services will be held at 2pm, Friday, April 16 @ Preston-Hanley, 500 N. 4th St, Pekin, IL
He will have a full military honors funeral and after everything is taken care of our bill comes out to $13,363.40 - He is worth it!!
Your kindness and generosity during such a vulnerable time is just breath taking. We are humbled by your graciousness.
Thank you!!
This is one of the good guys! He is the greatest dad, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend. He is an Army Veteran. He is the guy that will help a person in need. He is the one that would make you laugh when you need it most and tell you the things you need to honestly hear. He loved watching westerns or wrestling, game shows and Trick My Truck. He would pass his days singing karaoke online. He is the best fishing buddy and poker friend a person could ever have.
On April 02, 2021 Butch was found unresponsive in his apartment. Over the past week doctors have tried everything to bring him out of the coma state he is in. They believe the coma was brought on by a low blood sugar. Among his many other health problems (i.e. congestive heart failure, stage 4 renal failure, diabetes etc.) he had recently been receiving treatment for a low hemoglobin. Today they have told us that they have exhausted all possibilities of turning this around.
The hospital is keeping him comfortable until he passes from this world. He will be greeted by the love of his life (Chris) and so many other family members. He will be pain free.
Money has always been a struggle and life insurance was not thought of until too late and completely unaffordable on a fixed income. There is no savings and due to the changes made by the VA, he will NOT receive help to cover the cost of his funeral. We are asking for your help.
If he has ever made you laugh, made you smile, lent you a helping hand, given you unsolicited advice or told you a story, please consider donating.
If you ever got to fish with him or play a hand of poker, please consider donating.
If you have never met him but you know and love a person like him, please consider donating.
If you have never met him, I hope you get to meet a person like him one day.
I hope you get to experience a love like his.
