Help get Chuck back in the saddle!

On April 8, our little baby boy was attacked by a dog and injured pretty badly. After being rushed to the emergency vet, it took more time and effort than usual to get him stabilized and into surgery. The skin, puncture wounds and deep muscle tissue injuries were difficult to repair but after a night in surgery, the amazing team at Emergency Animal Hospital South were able to stitch Chucky up and keep him alive. Lauren was able to take him home on Monday to start his recovery. He spent almost a week fully sedated in order to give his back and chest wounds time to begin to heal. A week later he was able to come off his traquilzers and walk a little on his own (with the help of pain meds of course).

The vets were concerned that he might need another operation and new stitches as dog bites tend to damage the skin that gets sewn back together and it can begin to die. His stitches are now looking a little fishy and he's headed back in for another operation on April19.

Thankfully he is alive but still has long road to a full recovery. We have decided to reach out to family and friends to help Lauren get Chucky the best care he can get. Between surgery bills, medication and follow up vet visits, the financial aspect just adds insult to injury. (Not too mention that Lauren is dealing with a broken hand from the same day!!) Anyone who knows Lauren is aware that Chuck is her whole entire world and she would give her all for him without question! They both need our help desperately.
