A little bit about our hero
.....Buster was in Vietnam from 1967, 68 and 69. He joined the Navy at age 17 and earned the rate of Bosemate 3rd class. He then joined Carolina Power and light and remained there for 35 1/2 years after numerous back operations he had a stroke in 2015 and overcame that easily. He was a veteran of the year at post 9960 in 2008 and 2009. He was a very active member of the VFW in Swansboro N C When he moved to Bluffton he was very active in the patriot Guard honoring our fallen military brothers and sisters. He is a lifetime member of the VFM and DAV and a member of the Am vets.in 2014 he began having coughing spells that were constant and painful. After a week in the hospital he was diagnosed with Bronchitis and released after visits to the emergency room several times. He was diagnosed with scarring of the lungs known as pulmonary fibrosis and there is no cure, therefore we decided to go for a lung transplant at Duke Hospital in Durham NC seeing as this was a better option than the other. Hoping to get the ok soon and we will move to Durham N C for 6 to 8 months for the procedure.
