Hello friends!
Over the past six months, my lil guy developed a tumor on his side. Initially small and thought to be benign, it slowly grew and filled with fluid. The situation escalated over the past few weeks and the tumor ultimately burst, was diagnosed as Fibrosarcoma, and then turned necrotic all within a short period of time. I had to make a fast decision. While Buster is about sixteen years old or so, he is the picture of health otherwise. He still lives like an adult cat, not an elderly one, playing and chasing his brother up and down flights of stairs. The vets and specialists all said they wouldn’t have guessed him to be a day over ten years. Because of his life and health and energy, I just couldn’t find it in myself to make any other call other than saving his life and getting that awful thing off of him. The oncology and surgical teams at the Mt Laurel Animal Hospital were super confident and ultimately were able to remove the tumor quickly and without being excessively invasive. One surgery, one time, no chemo. I wasn’t willing to put his body through any more than that and fortunately that’s all it took. He was able to come home the same day, which is better than they even expected and he’s been home healing up for almost a week now. I’m so happy I made that call, I absolutely feel it was the right one. But it was a pricey decision that forced me to take out a care credit line for the expenses, which all told are running me about $4800, (a sweet lil chunk has already been kindly donated in cash, hence the lesser amt in the gofundme). These health care credit lines are interest free for six months so I’m putting this out there in the universe to ask for any help anyone is willing to give to help me knock this out as fast as possible before the insane 26.99% apr kicks in. Literally even the smallest amount would be helpful and appreciated.
