Buss Family of 7 (8 in the home) House Fire Fund

Donation protected
Imagine.....you live on a family ranch..... run to town to take care of errands after the kiddos have gone to school..... and you get a call while driving.....  The person on the other end of the line says, "Are you at home? Your house is burning down".....  Before you can fully comprehend what is happening, you realize you need to get home....  So many questions... what is going on....  is this really real? Driving home in a panic, you realize this is not "a drill".....   Once you arrive home, you see generations of memories going up in flames and smoke... and a feeling of helplessness falls over you.... you have nothing left... but each other....

The Buss family (a Nebraska Ranching/Rodeo/Wrestling Family of 7) lost everything they had in their approximately 6500 square foot ranch home due to a house fire on February 22nd, 2022. Fortunately, no one was home at the time, and all family members were physically okay. However, the Buss's home was a total loss. The large ranch home contained 5-6 generations of items and ten family members' belongings (grandparents, parents and children). This house fire took so many things that the family will never be able to replace, antiques, tack, guns, trophies, medals, paperwork and the list goes on. The emotional toll this will take on the Buss family is something most of us will never be able to comprehend or understand.

The Buss family will always be close to my heart as they were there for me when I was at the lowest point in my life when I lived in their area and found myself in a controlling, domestic situation. The whole "Buss Clan" showed up immediately with several trailers and people in tow to help get me out of the home and help me relocate to a safe place. I can never repay the Buss family for what they did for me that day.

The Buss family would never ask for help on their own, as they are a very hard-working, driven, self-sufficient "bunch" of ranchers! But I would like to ask, beg, and plea of any of you who know this giving, strong and resilient family to please do what you can to help the Buss's begin to rebuild and reorganize their lives day by day. They will have many long days, weeks, months and even years of lost time, wages, personal items, memories etc., down the road in the future. Every little bit helps, as they will need to start all over, with clothes, food, shoes, boots, tack etc. Thank you for your time and donations, and know that 100% of the funds from this Go Fund Me will go directly to Jim and Sharlene and their kiddos! Thank you so much! - Kacey Finney
