You can help a refugee student stay in school this spring!

Every year, Charlotte welcomes hundreds of families who fled their homes because they faced severe persecution--even threat of death--for nothing more than who they are, what they believe, or who they support.

Once in our city, they make us stronger with their drive to give their children bright futures and their passion for peace.

They also thirst to understand English so that they can be active, self-sufficient members of their new communities.

While many students can walk, bike, drive, or carpool to community based classes, others have to take CATS buses. Unfortunately, with limited resources, these students are unable to attend classes without financial assistance to offset transportation costs. This spring, the need has out grown available grant funds. 30 students who have been faithfully studying will be forced to withdraw from classes until July (when new grant funds come in!) without help from people like you.
