On the evening of Sunday, October 16th, Vivian Dorzweiler died by suicide at her home in Gunnison, Colorado, after what can only be concluded was a long-term battle with untreated depression. Her three daughters, Hillary, Erika, and Kate, have not only been blindsided by this tragic and unexpected event, but are now facing crushing familial and financial responsibilities. Their father, John Buscovick, was under Viv’s advanced eldercare at the time of her passing. This has added a layer of complexity to an already devastating situation.
The sisters are scrambling to ensure their dad gets the care he requires in the short term. They are already buckling under the pressure of covering expenses, including cremation services, food, utilities, travel expenses, the looming trickle effect of lost wages, and forthcoming attorney fees. There are likely to be a slew of other unforeseen expenses that will threaten to take them down in their efforts to handle this crisis. They need an immediate safety net while they work towards finding long-term solutions. The potential for losing the family home has become a present-day reality. We hope three months of mortgage coverage will give the grieving family a small window to make sound decisions.
As it was Vivian’s wish, no memorial service will be held. In place of flowers or other typical funeral gifts you might’ve sent, we hope you will consider donating what you can to help these ladies get through the next few months.
Your assistance during this time of great adversity would be deeply appreciated by the girls and the greater Buscovick and Dorzweiler families.
Thank You <3
