We all know Matt & Megan would do anything in their power to give the shirt off their back to help someone, and now it's their turn.
Not only did their furnace go out, but Matt ended up with an emergent air flight to Sioux Falls with blood clots in his lungs and leg. Thank the good Lord, it was all caught in time! These two deserve the world and if not more!
"Well 1st day officially home went well. Matt is on a 10lb weight restriction for the next week, so he can't even pick up the kids. Miles gave him a hug around his leg and found out daddy has an owie on his leg and has been gentle. The kids were dropped off where they needed to go this morning then off to get meds and appointments for a followup. Matt road around Walmart on the motor carts bc I needed to get some food for the house. He did get some looks but oh well. For the most part he rested today, I made sure of that.
With all this going on, our furnace is being replaced. We noticed about a month ago our heat wasn't working. We had to take out a Heloc loan on the house to get a whole new system in. Well, there have been issues trying to get set up. I guess whoever put it in didn't have it up to code and was a major hack job. Thanks to some near by friends they lent us some space heaters to help keep some heat in here. However not going to lie can't wait to have a functioning furnace system.
Sometimes when it rains it pours and we are definitely hanging out in some flooded water. Although it sucks, I'm thankful that things didn't go horribly worse where I had to deal with it alone. I joke that Matt is my grown giant man child, but he is my 2nd half, the one that tries to keep me sane sometimes and puts up with me. I had my moment of breaking down when he was getting put into the helicopter thinking this could be the last time I see him and wonder how I'd do it all if it all was lost. But it all turned out well. We have some major bills coming our way and I see quite a bit of OT and extra hours in the future. I can handle that, with Matt here I can handle that." - Megan Busche
