Bus Hero

Tax deductible
On April 26, 2021, a good Samaritan named Mychelle, intervened by shielding Mr. Hua Lin, a 69-year-old man, from being attacked with a cane on an Oakland bus and flagged down an ambulance. While Mychelle, herself, was attacked by the same perpetrator, law enforcement was able to make an arrest due to her swift actions.

Since the attack, Mychelle has encountered several incidents of harassments and threats. Someone threw paint on her car and slashed her tires. They even tried to intimidate her by putting dead rats near her home.

Join us to help raise funds so that Mychelle, our Bus Hero, can move to a safer place so that she would not have to live in fear.  Per Carl Chan, President of the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, "Mychelle risked her life to help someone she did not know.  She would not be experiencing these threats if she did not risk her life to save one of our seniors.  Let's show her we appreciate her help".  100% of the funds raised will go to help Mychelle find a new and safer place to live. The Oakland Chinatown Chamber Foundation is a 501c3 organization; our EIN is 37-1433643. Your donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
