This October, I’ll be running the Manchester Half Marathon to raise vital funds for Bury Cancer Support Centre – a local charity that makes a huge difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.

The Centre provides emotional, practical and social support to anyone impacted by cancer – whether they are patients, survivors, family members, friends, carers, or those who are bereaved. The amazing staff and volunteers go above and beyond, offering:

• Professional counselling and psychological support

• Support groups and a safe, welcoming space

• Complementary therapies to aid wellbeing

• Practical help for individuals and families navigating the challenges cancer brings

This cause is very close to my heart. I volunteer at the Centre myself, and my mum works there as a counsellor, providing psychological support. The Centre has also supported my family personally, including my late uncle Edgar, and I’ve seen first-hand the difference it makes.

Bury Cancer Support Centre is a self-funded charity, relying solely on donations and fundraising to continue providing these invaluable services. Every pound raised will help them reach more people in need across our community and beyond.
