Burrell is in need of medical equipment…
Aurice Burrell was diagnosed in January 2020 with Staphylococcus aureus blood infection and then in November of the same year came a diagnosis for both type 2 diabetes and Addison’s disease. At this point, his body had complete muscle deterioration that left him in a wheel chair. Due to all of this, Burrell has had to take an early retirement from the fire service.
When speaking of Burrell as a firefighter and co-worker, he was the type to work or cover for someone with no notice. He loved the job and found himself rising through the ranks before his diagnosis.
With Burrell’s muscle deterioration, he needs help
with his mobility. Right now his wife is his sole caretaker and lifting him can be a challenge. One of the biggest challenges is getting in and out of the minivan. We are trying to help them raise money to get a lift system to help with this.
