Somali Sister Burn Victim Kismayo

As-salāmu ʿAlaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

I am not one to create pages like this, but considering the situation at hand and this being the last 10 days of the Blessed Month of Ramadan I felt compelled to share with you this heartbreaking story of a Somali Sister.

A video was shared yesterday June 25th on "Somalida Aduunka," that was gut wrenching to watch. ;(

** 'Somalida Addunka' or 'Somalis around the Globe' is a popular Snapchat Account with a simple message - to connect Somalis around the world. Somalis from all over come on the account and 'feature' taking over the account for a slotted time to show their part of the world and all the good and sometimes bad that comes with it.

During one of the 'features' on the account, a young woman from Minnesota by the name of Farhiya Ali, took the viewers through her day in Kismayo, Somalia and as the feature progressed explained that she was heading to Kismayo General Hospital where she would be visiting Sexually Abused Women, Women affected by Domestic Violence and Burn Victims.

Before arriving at the Hospital and After arriving at the Hospital she warned viewers that there was Graphic Content to come. What viewers saw next was a video  of a woman allegedly burnt by her husband for not making "dinner."

Farhiya, the Somali-Minnesotan who's doing research on conflict studies in Somalia, said authorities have not arrested the husband.

The burnt woman was given seven days live if she did not recieve treatment.

Kali Mohamed & I spoke with Farhiya Ali today, the young woman from Minnesota and have been coordinating with her on Fundrasing and also spoke to Sacdiyo Ali Muuse the woman who is receiving money from US here in Minnesota on behalf on the young woman who was Burned.

We have attempted to raise money by giving out information where people can go to their local Xawaalad and send money personally.

It seems that this tasking and people simply do not have  the time to do so.

We have also tried raising the money with PayPal and even through Snapchat with Snapcash.

So far our fundrasing has gotten us a little over $1,000 sent in about 24hrs of campaigning. This young woman needs much more then that.

25k might seem like a lot but Burn Victims in the U.S. usually need multiple surgeries and cost a lot more. This young woman suffered 3rd Degree Burns.

Her skin was literally falling off.

She needs to get flown out of Kismayo and to a better hospital, she needs pain meds, she needs a BURN Unit and eventually she'll need Surgery.

Time is of the Essence and I pray we are able to meet this goal and get the funds to this young woman who has been affected by this horrible tragedy

While we intially did not want to make this GoFundMe Account we are getting the Word out and hopefully help save a Life and get this young Woman the Medical Attention she NEED.

Please Donate & Share. Any Amount is Helpful.  May Allah (swt) Reward you.
