We are devastated to share that over the weekend, our school was targeted by vandals. Not only was our shed broken into and the contents thrown into the pond, but creosote was poured directly into the water.
This mindless act of destruction has put our entire pond ecosystem at risk, and we are doing everything we can to save our fish. At a time when school budgets are incredibly tight, we now have to redirect vital funds away from our students' learning to clean up this environmental mess.
We are so saddened that someone would do this to a space meant for our children’s education.
How You Can Help
We are seeking to raise £1000 to cover the costs of:
- Professional cleaning
- Testing the water and, if necessary, restocking the fish and aquatic plants.
- Replacing damaged equipment from the shed.
- Improving security to ensure this doesn't happen again.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps us restore this vital resource for our children without taking money away from their classrooms.
All funds raised will go directly toward the restoration of the pond, restocking of fish, and replacement of vandalised equipment. In the event that we raise more than is required, or if the restoration project changes, the remaining funds will be used for general school environment improvements and outdoor learning resources for our students.
