Matt & Thomas's Burning Man Fund
As our journey with Secret Society takes us to new frontiers and opens up an overwhelming array of possibilities, we have been called to participate in the annual desert pilgrimage in Nevada called Burning Man.
Thomas has experienced this magical madness last year and has been summoned to be one of the facilitators of a camp called LoveCow - a sacred sanctuary of healing with sound, energy work and radical inclusion of every soul on the Playa.
Matt's recent involvement in an offspring festival of Burning Man - Further Future, calls him to the godfather of all festivals this year to deepen the roots that tie him to the main influencers of contemporary electronic music. If you have been to TTITD (That Thing In The Desert) you know that when the Playa calls you, you have to answer.
The decision has been made and we are both going, but due to the fact that we - as the organizers behind Secret Society events - believe in inclusion and accessibility for everyone, our parties are not planned around being profitable, rather about being affordable and offering a unique experience to our members. Thus we lack a significant amount of funds to make this journey to the desert happen and we created this page where you can donate to our cause.
The event is two weeks away and all we ask for is help with flight tickets / gas money, basic living expenses (food, water, camp dues) while in the desert and funds that help us cover the ticket cost (which is the significant amount of the money needed considering the bad exchange rates between CAD - USD).
As the principles of Burning Man are the same we adhere to when organizing Secret Society events, being able to go there means we can reconnect, get inspired, create connections and come back with ideas that can take our community to the next level and help us manifest a much needed change in the underground music scene of the City of Toronto.
If you know us, you know that we are always giving opportunities to the talented, we prefer to keep the spotlight on others and we never ask for anything but your involvement in dancing, smiling and having fun with us. It is a tough, but desperate choice to create this campaign, with the confidence that this adventure will manifest in each and every one of your lives with a new, advanced and even more loving, giving and inspiring versions of Matt and Thomas.
