Burn Victim

My kids and I were cooking a big Sunday dinner, which of course called for a good amount of bacon. My son in law accidentally left the grease cooking on the stove, so it began to burn. As I went to move it, a large amount of scorching hot bacon grease splashed onto my foot. I ended up 3rd degree burns all over my foot. That’s where it all started, I went to a local hospital, they told me it was going to be just fine and just to follow up with the Burn Unit in Gainesville, FL. After seeing the Burn Unit, they explained how serious the burns were and we began the healing process. I was going to have to make the hour drive weekly to have checkups. On my second check up, they noticed it was infected, even though I took every precaution. I was then admitted to the hospital, right before Thanksgiving. The skin graph they did, my body rejected, which called for scheduling another surgery and spending Thanksgiving in the hospital, and not spending it with my family and my newborn grandson. During my first surgery, as if anything else could go wrong, my front tooth fell out. The hospital stated because of the grinding of teeth people tend to do under Anesthesia, it happens. A couple days later, I had my second surgery, which were hoping will be a success. I now have a large amount of hospital bills, I have missed 3 weeks of work and it’s the holidays and I’m terrified I won’t be able to give my family the Christmas they deserve. My husband has drove over an hour , one way, to come see me everyday, as well as trying to hold down the roof at home. I never thought bacon grease would leave me with two surgeries, a long hospital stay and toothless. I would be grateful for any help. Thank you for reading my story.
