Burn survivor, Buma Tumenjargal
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Our beloved cousin, Buma Tumenjargal had a tragic accident during a trip in the Mongolian countryside. The shack he was renting from a local elderly resident caught fire, and one of the gas canister tanks used for cooking food exploded in front of him. His face, hands, and forearms were badly burned. Due to Mongolia’s lack of healthcare resources and paved roads in the countryside, it took over 24 hours before friends and strangers were able to transport him to a local hospital. During that period of time, he had to endure a long journey without sight, pain medication, basic treatment, and care.
According to the doctor’s preliminary examinations, they estimate that he has received third-degree burns to his hands and face. Currently, they will be attempting a skin grafting emergency surgery to close his open wounds to prevent further infection. This incident will heavily impact his life, as he is unable to work, care for his pets, or even live a normal day-to-day life. Given the damage to his face and arms, Buma will need reconstructive surgeries to have hope for living a normal life.
Buma works for the Mongol Ecology Center, an NGO located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and Tuscon, Arizona that supports environmental sustainability and youth empowerment. He is a kind individual who makes a positive impact on the community around him. He is so young and has had his life irreversibly impacted by this event. His loved ones kindly request any support during this time to go towards his emergency medical treatments and future reconstructive care.
Thank you so much for your thoughts and time.
