Burn Relief For Austin Acrey

On Saturday Oct. 3rd, Austin was relaxing at his home in Eagle Point around his fire pit, like he often liked to do on the weekend. Austin dozed off and what happened next is still unclear, but all we know is he woke up with his pants completely engulfed in flames. Austin sustained severe burns over much of his lower body. The burns were so deep that he needed more specialized care, so he was transported up to the Oregon Burn Unit in Portland, OR. Austin has already underwent his first of several surgeries and is gearing up for his 2nd in a few days. He will be in the hospital for quite some time, then will have many months of painful rehabilitation in front of him. He will be unable to work and therefore will not have any way to pay his normal bills and whatever treatment his insurance doesn’t cover. As his family,  we are doing what we can to keep his bills current, but in addition to those costs, we also have the cost of us going back and forth to Portland to be with him during this hard time, often missing work to do so, and it is becoming financially taxing on us as well.

If you know Austin, you know he is very generous, often opening his home and his table to anyone that needs a hand up. He is sarcastic and hilarious and loves the outdoors. Austin is far too proud to ever ask anyone for help for anything, so we are humbly asking in his place. Please if you are able to donate to help him get through this horrific accident, it is more appreciated than you know. Let‘s take the financial burden off of him and our family so that he can just focus on his recovery. We want to get him back to work and back out on the river fishing again in no time.
