Burial and memorial of Glen Newcomb

On Thursday, 1/20/2017, my father took his own life. He was lost in addiction and had given up. We only wish that he would have reached out to any one of us and asked for help because we were there for him even if he didn't think we were. Now we are left with the task of figuring out his expenses, his house payments, and his funeral. My family and I aren't doing particularly well in the funds department and would never want to ask for any hand outs, but with the cost of the attorney, as he had no will, his mortgage payments, and the funeral, we are asking if anyone can help and donate at this time it would be very much appreciated.

My dad was a guy that anyone could get along with, maybe not for long, but when you met him he was extrememly outgoing and not afraid to share his opinion. He loved going out and meeting new people and just having a good time. He partied a little too hard at times but hey, who doesn't. He had traveled the world and got to see things that many of us will never get to see in our life time. He spoke multiple languages and had friends all over the place and from many different backgrounds. When we were kids he made it his goal for us to travel and see different places and experience new things, foods, cultures, etc.

My dad battled alcohol addiction for a very long time, he was very good at hiding it, but his close family members knew the truth. We tried to help him in a number of ways, but he was a hard-headed stubborn man and did what he wanted to do, which we had to accept. He had a hard time dealing with loss and after losing both his parent and after his divorce, he started to spiral out of control, and after years wound up at his lowest, and took his own life.

We are all going to miss him tremendously, it breaks my heart that my kids will grow up never knowing my father, their papa, and instead will have to hear stories about him. He wasn't always the best role model, but if you ever needed someone to talk to, or needed some extra help, he'd always bend over backwards to help you out. I'm going to miss him a whole lot, and am not really sure what I'll do without him, but I know that he is in a better place now, he's no longer suffering, and he gets to see all the loved ones we've lost previously, especially his mom and dad.

I love you dad, and will never stop thinking about you. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and all will go towards making his funeral the one he deserves and helping pay off any and all debts he had.

P.S. And this one's for you dad
