Burial Expenses for Tu Phan

On Saturday, February 5th 2022, Tu Phan succumbed to depression and committed suicide in his family home. As one can imagine, their heartache is beyond any comprehension at this time. We pray that you consider donating to his family to help them with his burial expenses. I would ask you to seek out anyone you know who may be experiencing depression or making statements about suicide. I would like each of us to keep this info handy--it is the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Please give it to anyone who may need it.

I met Tu in college when we shared the same art class. He was the most talented of all the students and was passionate about drawing and painting. He had a tender heart, a sensitive soul, and was always willing to help anyone. He enjoyed being in the creative art shows and was fond of dance and music as he was accomplished in Jiu-Jitsu and Bachata Salsa.

As our friendship grew, Tu was led to Christ. He became a born-again Christian and found himself active in his church. He prayed for others and told me that one day he wanted to run an orphanage in the Philippines. He was a pure and gentle spirit who often battled with self-doubt. Even when others saw his talents and God-given gifts, he struggled with thinking that he wasn't good enough, but we know he was. We know that God's love has always been around him and presented him with natural gifts that have blessed others.

I pray that each of us reading this can recognize that God can turn any life around for glory and joy. God gives us supernatural strength and healing when we claim the power of Christ, as we gain support to fight on with his power.
