It is with a heavy heart and a profound grief that we wish to inform our FB family and friends, that our Beautiful Baby Girl, Leah-Marie Deering, passed away at 5:33 p.m.. March 17th. 22 years old, so young. Early Thursday morning, she suffered a brain bleed following a seizure. We had faith that surgery would help, but it did not. The swelling was so severe that it caused tremendous pressure on her brain, resulting in massive brain hemorrhaging. The damage was irreparable, and she was declared "brain dead" that morning. We waited for one more test the next day. At 5:22 p.m. Friday, we took her off life support. She passed peacefully with no pain or discomfort.
She was surrounded by her loving family before and as she passed. Myself, her Dad, Jason Ward, her beloved fiancé, John Strube. sister, Lylah Hutchinson, her brother, Jack Deering. her cousin/sister, Arriah August Gronholdt Loose, her Auntie, Julie Joy Carlson-chaney, her cousin/nephew, Dalton Chaney, and a few close friends.
It was her wishes, not to be kept on life support, not to be resuscitated, and to be cremated. John and I, together, have followed those wishes. At a later date, (as a Memorial to Leah, for family and friends to have) John and I will be sending some of her ashes home to Sand Point, Alaska to be spread on one of her favorite spots. The bluff beyond Nora Newman's. We both called it "our thinking spot". She wanted to be close to the ocean. No one could ever take the Alaska out of this Aleut!!! <3
Thanks to all for the Prayers and Hugs. They have been loved and felt by all of us.
