Burial and Memorial for Paul Berg

Beschermde donatie
The backgammon world lost a great person this week.  Paul collapsed on March 16th while playing at the Flint Club. He passed away on the way to the hospital. He had a congenital heart condition. He was only 48.
Paul directed the Metro North BG Club near Detroit, and he was Assistant Director of the Flint Club. He was an excellent staffer at ABT tournaments in Michigan and Ohio, and a valued member of the USBGF Rating Team.
Paul was also a strong player, being Flint Club Champion and Player of the Year several times, as well as our Fleet Underwood Champion. He won two ABT titles in Ohio in 2000 and 2001.

Most of all, Paul was a dear friend, kind, witty, smart, and highly knowledgeable about sports, computers, politics -- and drawsheets. He will be greatly missed.

The Flint Area Backgammon Club is asking for help in paying for a memorial and burial for Paul. His family is not able to pay for this service alone. The money will be managed by Carol Joy Cole and any money raised in excess of the costs will be donated to charity.
