This summer (July 12-18, 2015), David and Melissa Bunce have the exciting opportunity to join a team of missionaries in Tecate, Mexico—a border town in Baja California—where we will get to help construct simple homes for poverty-stricken families while addressing the spiritual needs of the community through friendship, evangelism and Children’s Bible School. Having been on several short-term mission trips to Peru, I (Melissa) know firsthand how valuable it can be to leave your comfort zone, your very culture, and experience the world from a vastly different perspective while serving people in need. There just isn’t anything like it, and I can’t wait to share this adventure with my husband.
When David and I got married back in September of 2014, we promised to center our relationship on Christ and serve God to the best of our abilities. While we do strive to keep that promise every day, we both feel drawn towards this greater challenge, knowing that it will bless us and strengthen our characters. Since this will be our first mission trip together, I know it will be extra special, and we wouldn’t miss it for the world! (Even if it means a week without air conditioning… in the middle of summer… in Mexico…)
Between now and July, David and I must raise $1,275 each—$2,550 total. This amount covers travel expenses, food, lodging and project supplies.
