Bun Mar, a longtime resident of Eastpointe, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022. He was 77 years old.

Bun was born on March 3, 1944 in Battambang, Cambodia to Souk Mar and Dee Lar. He married his beloved wife in 1962 and started his family. Bun moved with his family to the United States on August 28, 1979. He worked for many years as a mason for Wolverine Marble, retiring in 1994. Outside of his work, he enjoyed playing the thoe, singing, dancing, playing volleyball and soccer, fishing on Lake St. Clair, and spending time with his family at Metro Beach.

Bun is survived by his beloved wife Youk Mar; loving children Mach (Malia) Mar, Theresa (fiancé Thaenny Thit) Phankhamchit, Moy (Nicole) Mar, Phall (Roger) Scroggins, Mann (fiancé Mackenzie) Mar, Jim (vilay) Mar, and Mary (Haleem Ar-Rasheed); godson Saried Mao Dok; sixty grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and children Bunla, Keo Sarath, Somin, and Sokah.

Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 2pm - 8pm . A funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10:30am. Cremation to follow at Lenox Cremation Services of Michigan in Casco, Michigan.
