Bully an Olde English Bulldog was found 3 weeks ago when I was walking my 4 rescue dogs in the San Fernando Valley Park. She walked up to us and growled a bit when I approached her ... but when I started talking to her she came over to me in a "wobbly" way , and was all happy and excited. She had no collar or tags. She seemed neglected, underweight, had an eye infection, and her mammary glands where extremely large and "pendulous".
Her nails were very long and had not been trimmed in a long time, plus she had a severe ear infection in both ears.
I have rescued 24 dogs over the years. Bully was by far the dog that bonded almost immediately and is not leaving my sight now.
I assume she was used / abused as a puppy mill.... Bully is no more than 3 years old and most likely had to bear puppies every time she went into heat.
The worst part is, that she is walking with a disability on her right hind leg. She is a very happy dog and she like's to walk and run but is only able to "hobble along" and stops and lifts her leg to relieve the pain every few yards.
I took Bully to my amazing Vet Dr. Reina at LA Pet Clinic, to see if she was microchipped ..but she wasn't, she had a health check up got shots and her legs where x-rayed.
Dr. Reina recommended I see a specialist, so I made an appointment with ASCE on Sepulveda in West LA.
After an exam and viewing the X-ray, DR. Kelly diagnosed that her leg had been broken approximately 4-5 month ago, but the fracture was never taken care of. Naturally her body has tried to heal but her bones grew together in a way that her right hind leg now is about 2" to short. (SEE the X-ray on my facebook page)
Bully needs an extensive "Tibial Fracture Repair" surgery and will need after the operation for some time physical therapy to strengthen her muscles and lengthen her tendons.
I decided to foster Bully and I am trying to raise the funds to get this poor creature an operation to help her live a more normal life to correct her broken leg plus get her spayed.
Bully is the most lovable dog you can imagine.. she LOVES attention and affection which I'm certain she didn't get much before. She gets along with my 4 dogs and loves to go with us every night to the park ,where she made many dog and human friends already.
I took care of all the easily treatable ailments and she is in and better shape now..
....BUT ....
I need financial help to pay for her surgery... PLEASE help Bully Mamma to live a more normal life and get the care that any being deserves!!!!
