Bulleit needs your help!
7-week-old boxer Bulleit is a rescue with a terrible back but a strong will to live. He was born with a birth deformity causing ‘kyphosis’, which causes his spine to curve forward and backward (as opposed to scoliosis that curves the spine side to side). His back is so severely deformed that it compresses his spinal cord. Since it is in his chest area, it causes weakness and a possible paralysis to his back legs. Despite all of this, Bulleit is an incredibly happy puppy who loves to play with his family (furry and non-furry) and has won their hearts over in just a few weeks.
Casey has rescued countless puppies, kittens and other furry friends over her years working at animal hospitals and vets. Rescuing animals comes at a high cost emotionally, physically and especially financially. Bulleit will be put on limited activity and cage rest (and a lot of snuggles) until he is ready for surgery. If he gets worse, Bulleit might need to get a brace to support his back. As soon as he is old and stable enough for surgery, his spine can be altered to relieve the pressure on his back. After the recovery he will most likely need a wheelchair.
All of this might sound like a train wreck to you but one look in Bulleit’s eyes is enough to realize he’s worth it and will live a happy life, even when bound to a doggie-wheelchair. The pure thought of putting this little sunshine down is devastating and considering that money is the only thing standing between Bulleit and a happy puppy life on wheels, we believe that he deserves a shot at life.
Please support this little puppy and his family by sharing their story and giving what you can. Donations will be used to help defer the costs of surgery, follow up and recheck appointments, xrays and a possible MRI, and eventually a wheelchair for this little guy. Thank you.
