Bulgarian Puppy Care

Donation protected
My cousin and I are on a year long tour of Europe with all of my animals in tow... that’s right, I brought all six of my dogs and all five of my cats with me while we travel the continent! Along the way, we’ve been unable to ignore the plight of other animals we’ve met and we’ve stepped in to rescue and rehome a couple street dogs. Our policy is that when we pick up an animal, we only take animals in crisis, and we cover the costs associated with getting them able to be rehomed anywhere in the world. So far, we’ve been able to do that without a problem. We’re now in Bulgaria, and about a month ago we picked up a gorgeous soon to be momma dog. Two weeks ago, she gave birth to seven beautiful puppies. Sadly, we lost the smallest one of the litter only 48 hours later; the world was just to big for such a tiny soul. The other six puppies, however, are happy, healthy, and growing like crazy! Two of the puppies have been spoken for with Stateside homes, four are still to be adopted. In a few weeks, it will be time to start preparing the puppies for their new homes. That includes a list of things that require funds. Sadly, due to a change in our financial circumstances, we can not possibly cover the full costs required to prepare all six puppies, so we’re asking for help.I spoke to the vet today, and the following are the costs (the vet has generously agreed to discount the pricing since these are rescue dogs and we have so many to do):Microchip - 30Travel passport - 10Rabies/3rd vaccine - 301st vaccine - 202nd vaccine - 25—————————690 Bulgarian Lev for six puppiesDeworming - approx. 50 Lev for three treatmeantsA rough total of veterinary costs is thus 740 Lev (approximately £350, or $430).In addition, we have to feed the puppies, and eventually transport them (whether by car or plane). The puppies have to remain with us until they are 16 weeks of age at a minimum due to importation laws in the US, UK, and elsewhere, so we have an extra two months of care taking involved over what would normally be the case (usually puppies are weaned and can go to new families at 8 weeks). As you can see, we have our work cut out for us to support these beautiful souls financially.I’ve set the initial goal at £400 to at least cover the veterinary costs involved to ensure all puppies can be properly vaccinated and passported. Any additional funds raised over that amount will be put towards the transportation costs of getting the puppies to their new homes when the time comes. **PLEASE NOTE: Momma dog, Gabrova (Gabbie) has had all costs covered by us as is our policy when rescuing a dog. We were not aware she was pregnant until hafter the rescue, and so were not prepared for the costs of puppies. However, we have and will continue to cover any costs incurred by Gabbie out of our own pocket. All funds raised here are for the puppies ONLY!**You can follow the puppies and their adventures here:FB: www.facebook.com/travellingmenagerieIG: @travellingmenagerieBlog: www.travellingmenagerie.com
