I am sharing some news regarding our best itokani vinaka duadua Siti. A week ago he went to the ER due to a swollen abdomen. Unfortunately the doctors diagnosed him with Stage 4 prostate cancer. There are tumors in his prostate, ribs and his spine has extensive infiltration as well. He underwent a complex back surgery. The surgeon removed quite a bit of cancer, and removed his T5 and T9 vertebrae and essentially rebuilt his spine from T2 to L2. The surgery is only meant to enable him to walk as there was a lot of compression. The surgery went well. At this point due to the extensive spread, the prognosis does not sound good but his spirits are good and now we will take one day at a time.

Good news is that he is now at home in Pennsylvania, recovering and already sharing his unique humor with anyone who should call or text him.

 

He needs are help. He has been an extended member of our extended family for 33 years and - as he was always around to help any of us when we asked him - he now needs our help. He will need extensive recovery, physical therapy, medications and treatment and above all monetary resources to help him.

 

His friends are asking his friends to give to our Siti.
