Fighting for My Home: Exposing Contractor Fraud in Florida
Donation protected
One homeowner’s fight is about to expose an entire system.
I’m Jennifer — a small business owner, survivor, advocate in the making, and currently a pro se plaintiff in a Florida case that’s not just about one contractor — it’s about how fraud is allowed to thrive in our courts, construction industry, and communities.
I never imagined I’d be here — asking for help publicly. I’ve always been the one others come to for support. But now, I’m in a fight to save my home, my voice, and the truth.
What I uncovered:
- I didn’t just get scammed.
- I uncovered forged paperwork.
- Falsified inspection reports.
- Unlicensed subcontractors.
- And attorneys who walked away when the truth got too close.
Now I’m fighting — not just for my home, but for every homeowner who’s ever been told:
“There’s nothing you can do.”
This is bigger than one lawsuit.
If you’ve ever hired a contractor or trusted a lawyer, this story is for you.
What Happened
What started as a routine impact window and door installation turned into a nightmare.
I hired a company that claimed they were licensed, bonded, insured, and never used subcontractors.
I was told the owner — a Certified General Contractor — would be on site to oversee the project.
I did my due diligence:
- I verified licenses through the Florida Sunbiz system,
- Asked all the right questions (or so I thought),
- Signed what I thought were legitimate contracts.
It was all a lie.
I became one of many Floridians scammed by a broken, highly manipulated contractor system that preys on the vulnerable.
Behind my back, they handed the job to an unlicensed, unvetted subcontractor who:
- cracked my home’s slab,
- caused serious structural damage,
- abandoned the job unfinished — leaving me with the impossible task of trying to put my home back together.
I only discovered the truth through court-ordered discovery:
- the job was secretly subcontracted to a company that wasn't even licensed.
I’ve since invested over $168,000 trying to repair the damage — and I still have unresolved issues. Meanwhile, the legal process has been weaponized to drain me emotionally and financially:
- delays,
- inspection no-shows,
- and motions designed to wear me down.
My case was even dismissed — not because of any signed settlement, but due to:
- attorney neglect,
- abandonment,
- and procedural failure.
I’m fighting for more than just myself. I’m fighting for homeowners everywhere who deserve
- truth,
- safety,
- and accountability.
What We’ve Discovered
- Forensic experts confirmed systemic defects, improper installation, structural failures, and construction fraud.
- Attorneys I hired withheld motions, ignored my instructions, and now admit they’re material witnesses.
- I was coerced into a “settlement” I never saw or agreed to — while recovering from major surgery and managing dyslexia.
- The court dismissed my case without a hearing, even though no final, signed agreement ever existed.
I am now representing myself to fight for reinstatement and accountability under Florida law.
Every document has been organized. Every defect has been documented.
But I need help to keep going.
⚠️ What We've Experienced
This isn’t just one company — it’s a pattern:
- Forged documents and falsified inspection certificates used to collect loan payouts
- Jobs subcontracted without disclosure, licensing, and oversight
- Fabricated emails sent to city officials to justify abandoning jobs
- Legal intimidation, threats, and blame-shifting when homeowners speak up
- Unsafe, code-violating work left behind — if the job is even finished at all
What We’ve Been Left With
- Homes that are unsafe and uninhabitable
- Financial ruin and predatory loans (mine was over $140,000)
- Forensic reports showing widespread installation failures
- Red tags issued under false pretenses by the contractor
- Over $75,000 in legal fees just to try to be heard
- A legal system that favors corporations and calls it all “puffery”
⚖️ What This Fight Is Really About
This is a fight for:
- Seniors on fixed incomes
- Veterans who’ve served their country
- People recovering from illness or loss
- Families who just want a safe home
- Anyone who believes in accountability and transparency
Why This Matters
This isn’t just about getting my money back or saving my home — it’s about stopping the systemic failure that lets fraud and misconduct go unpunished in Florida’s construction and legal industries.
If I win this case, it sets precedent.
If I lose, it tells every bad actor that vulnerable consumers and disabled litigants don’t matter.
How You Can Help
✅ Donate $25 (or any amount).
If 2,000 people give just $25, we can fund expert support, filings, and survival expenses while I bring this to light.
Every share to a friend, neighbor, or community group makes a difference.
✅ Stand with me.
I’m not just defending my home — I’m defending truth, transparency, and the right to be heard.
Here’s the Math That Gives Me Hope:
If just 2,000 people each give $25, we hit the milestone needed to cover legal costs, expert reports, and survival expenses while I keep fighting.
That’s it.
No deep pockets. No big backers. Just a community who believes the truth matters.
$25 × 2,000 people = a shot at real accountability.
If you can give, thank you.
If you can share, thank you.
If you can do both, you're changing my life — and helping fix a broken system.
We’re Building a Movement
I’m working to take this all the way to the Florida legislature — and beyond.
If a company hires a subcontractor for any part of a job over $10,000, they must disclose :
- "Who they are"
- "Their credentials"
- "Proof of insurance — up front"
No more secrecy.
No more liability loopholes.
No more “not our responsibility.”
Why I’m Still Standing
Because I’m not the only one.
Because I’m a lioness who refuses to be silenced.
Because my father and I have uncovered forged paperwork, fabricated reports, and deliberate deception — and we’re not stopping until the truth comes out and the system is fixed.
