If you know Ian, you know he is not one for a lot of words. He shows up. He works hard. He takes care of the people and animals around him without making a big deal out of it. He is the kind of man who handles things quietly and steadily — the one you call when something needs to get done.
On April 27, 2026 Ian suffered a C1 burst fracture (broken neck), facial and nose fractures, and a brain hemorrhage in a serious accident caused by an oil spill on highway 83. He underwent surgery this week. The hemorrhage is shrinking, which is good news, and Ian is doing what Ian does — pushing forward.
A C1 fracture is one of the most serious spinal injuries possible, and recovery will be long, demanding, and costly. But if anyone is built for a hard road, it’s him. From his hospital bed, Ian has been asking about his coworkers, checking in on family and friends, and wanting to know that the pets are fed and okay. Not once has he made it about himself. That is who he is — a protector, a provider, a steady presence for everyone lucky enough to have him in their corner. Now it is our turn to have his.
Here is where your support goes:
-Medical costs — surgery, hospitalization, specialist care, and months of rehabilitation.
-Lost wages — Ian will be out of work for at least six weeks, likely longer
-Home & adaptive needs — spinal injury recovery often requires equipment and modifications insurance won’t fully cover
Ian has spent his life showing up for others. He would never ask for this himself — which is exactly why we are asking for him. Donate if you can. Share if you can’t. Every bit of it matters. He’s got a long road ahead. Let’s make sure he doesn’t walk it alone.
All our love and gratitude,
Jessica, Mackenzie, Valerie, & our family
