Finish the Roof on Orphanage

First off, thank you for taking a minute to click the link and read this page. We really appreciate it! I will get right into it -

Who -
My Uncle, Wayne Brown, is an amazing man. He is doing amazing things, but this time, he needs a little help to do something amazing.

What the Money is For -
He is asking for help. He needs about $1500 USD ($1950 CAD) currently to help finish building a roof on the boy's room of this orphanage. This isn't even the entire cost. This is just what he has come up short. In addition to supplying the basic necessities of life such as food for these kids, he is funding this whole project out of his own pocket.

Background -
My Uncle, Wayne Brown, is a retired Fire Chief from London, Ontario. After spending his life helping others, he didn't think twice about continuing that dedication into his retirement. When the horrific earthquake hit Haiti on January 12, 2010, he jumped at the chance to volunteer. While there, he saw the utter devastation incurred by people who were already in such deep poverty that their situation seemed hopeless. Without proper infrastructure and government intervention, many caring Haitians rose to the challenge to take in and care for, loads of new recent orphans with literally no where to go. They were not businesses, or charities, just regular people, themselves devastated by the earthquake, that took it upon themselves to share what little they had. Wayne continued to visit Haiti often (over 17 times so far!) and with his own retirement funds, buys groceries to help feed these kids. Not only does he provide financial support of his own accord, he helps build and expand buildings to accommodate more children in need, sets up generators for light and to cook food, and helps supply them with clean drinking water.

He has never asked for help before. But he is now. The Canadian dollar isn't doing well and his money is having less and less purchasing power because of it. He should not have to be a one man rescue team. He is doing so much good and it literally means the world to those children.

The Ask -
If you read this and are financially about to spare a few dollars, please consider donating $20, $15 or even $5 to this cause. We will post updates and photos when he project is completed and you will have the satisfaction on knowing that YOU helped make that happen. Consider even making it someone's Christmas gift? Donate and put a photo of the project in their stocking? We are SO lucky to live in Canada and North America where even our dirt poor are not literally dirt poor, as these kids are.

What's Next -
After this roof is completed. Wayne is working with a church group to help create and build a sustainable aqua farming system!

Thank you -
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. I hope you feel it in your heart to be moved to action. On behalf of my Uncle Wayne and the people he helps, THANK YOU.
