My name is Jeremy Hanewinckel and my wife Janine, together we have had the pleasure of owning My Gym Yorba Linda for over 7 years now and we are excited for the next step in this AMAZING adventure. We are outgrowing our current location and have the opportunity to move into a larger location. We love thinking about all the families we can impact with having a larger location. Moving into a larger location has its issues and buildout costs is one of them. For Janine and I we are excited to build the gym of our dreams but it comes at a cost. We want to offer the best for our families and we know our new space will allow us to do that. We have never really considered asking for help from others so this is hard for us. I have seen in my time as an instructor and a parent, shy children come out of their shells, children’s physical capabilities flourish, and I have watched so many children gain confidence in themselves.
Beyond all of the above, the most wonderful thing to me is that My-Gym isn’t just “a place you take your kids,” it’s a community. Even now, years after not working there, I will still see parents in a store or at the park and we say, “hello” to one another. I now work with some of my past students in other capacities and they are still friends with children they met when they were 9 months in a My-Gym class.
I feel incredibly lucky that My-Gym has stayed within our community and I hope to continue to see it thrive for years to come."
