Hi, I'm Imani and I'm the oldest of four in my family. My siblings, my mom, and I have struggled for longer than we can remember with the emotionally and financially abusive actions of my father within household. Under these circumstances, my mom has raised me and my siblings without the support she's needed. Even after multiple attempts to free ourselves from his grip, his financial control over us has been truly suffocating. To build a defense against this poison, we are launching this campaign. Today, my mom attended her first bus driver training course. This will be her first job in almost fourteen years and will allow her to build the financial independence she deserves. 

With your help, we will accumulate funds to create a better future.  Since my mom is beginning to work, she needs a car to be able to make this successful in the long term. With no access to public transportation, this is a necessary cost. She needs money for childcare as well so that my youngest sister is accounted for while my mom works. There are also a number of health problems that have been created and exacerbated by our living environment. Struggling with depression and Hashimoto's has created costs that are crippling to our goals. These funds will ultimately be used for building up the ability to remove my father from our home. We will need these funds as soon as possible to facilitate these steps on our journey to healing. 

We have been living in this situation for far too long. It is not sustainable and hopefully, we can begin to build a different kind of life for ourselves. I deeply appreciate anything you can do to help us with this dream!
